Haiti - Politic : Haitian High Level Delegation in Caracas

The Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe at the head of a delegation composed among others by : Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, Michael Lecorps, Director, Office of Monetization Program Development Assistance (BMPAD), Jacques Rousseau, Minister of public Works, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism, Sunday has left the country in the direction of Venezula to participate Monday in Caracas, to the continuation of discussions begun with Venezuelan leaders around Haiti's participation in the "Economic Zone Petrocaribe" which is an area of ​​cooperation between Member States of the alliance Petrocaribe.

Moreover, during a working session with the leaders of developing countries (PVD Caribe), Michael Lecorps, stressed the need to set up the structure of the joint enterprise Pétion-Bolivar, in order to ease mechanisms for disbursing funds, increase the number of barrels of daily oil provided to Haiti and strengthen the participation of the Haitian Government in the implementation and supervision of ongoing projects.

While waiting for the visit of a Venezuelan mission in Haiti, scheduled for the first week of November 2013, Haitian and Venezuelan delegates agreed to secure the services of the Venezuelan cooperative HAJA, for the project supervision in Delmas 32 ​​and Cité Soleil. They also agreed on the need to work to make functional and active the joint enterprise Pétion-Bolivar. It was question to identify of perspectives and also to work in depth on the mechanisms of payment of the debt by the Haitian government, under the Petrocaribe agreement.
