Haiti - Health : High Level Meeting on Cholera
Friday as part of monitoring of its participation in the 68th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, which reaffirmed Wednesday its commitment to "make every effort to help the people of Haiti to overcome the cholera epidemic," the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe chaired an important meeting at the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, which was attended among others by, Dr. Florence Guillaume Duperval, the Minister of public Health, and Dr. Pedro Mandrono Andrano, Deputy Assistant Secretary General in charge of the cholera response to Haiti, sent to Port-au-Prince by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

This high-level meeting aimed to establish the Haitian party to represent the country at the Joint Commission on cholera https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9552-haiti-politic-laurent-lamothe-talked-about-cholera-and-election-with-ban-ki-moon.html The Prime Minister took the opportunity to work on a draft Memorandum of Understanding between the Haitian government and the United Nations. The following institutions will be represented at the Commission: Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister and the National Directorate of Water Supply and Sanitation (DINEPA).
