Haiti - Sports : China donated sports equipment

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) received as a donation, a lot of sports equipment, estimated at $20,000, from the Office of Business Development of China in Haiti.

Several hundred basketball, volleyball, dozens of ping pong tables, rackets and other equipment were delivered to Magalie Racine, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, at a ceremony held at the residence of Wang Shuping, Permanent Representative of the Office of Business Development of China in Haiti.

In his remarks for the occasion, Mr. Wang situated this delivery of sports equipment as part of his country's contribution to the efforts of the Government Martelly-Lamothe for the education of Haitian youth and hoped that this lot of equipment, will allow young Haitian, to best practice sport and expressed the wish to see them one day reach a very high level.

This donation comes at a time when the state is increasing its efforts in terms of school sports, the Minister Racine noted that some of this material will be used for the practice of sport and physical activity in schools this year. She has also argued in favor of a strong and disciplined youth and announced the practice of table tennis in different schools.

Magalie Racine has reiterated her determination to continue to work towards the development of youth and encourage any initiative that contributes to the practice and development of the sport, inviting other partners in Haiti to support the sector in this process.
