Haiti - Security : Important drug seizure

Authorities in the Dominican Republic have seized a large quantity of drugs, in the port of Manzanillo, in the province of Montecristi (northwest). The merchandise, possibly cocaine or heroin was distributed in 100 packages hidden in 4 bags, on a boat, the "Ivory Girl" from Belgium in transit for Haiti, informed the Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD).
The agency declared that the seizure was made possible through a joint effort of the intelligence services with the National Investigations Directorate (Dirección Nacional de Investigaciones - DNI) and the Dominican National Army, under the Legal Directorate of Public Prosecutions and port security.
