Haiti - Elections : The President of CTCEP in Korea

Monday, October 14, 2013 in Incheon, the third largest city in South Korea, located 50 km west of Seoul (the capital), opened the inaugural meeting of the Association of World Election Bodies - A-WEB

Haiti, officially participated as Founding Member of the largest independent, non-political and non-governmental institution. During this session was unanimously approved the Charter governing this great institution, which gathered more than 115 countries and regional organizations on five continents.

Emmanuel Ménard, President of the Transitional College of the Permanent Electoral Council (CTCEP) led a delegation composed among others of Adviser Marie Clunie Miracles an partners of sector. The President of CTCEP stressed the commitment of the authorities of the three powers of the State and the people of Haiti to do everything possible to safeguard the democratic achievements and praised the efforts of President Martelly, "to build a constructive dialogue with the Haitian political class and vital sectors of the Nation."

Emmanuel Menard pleaded for exchanges and technical assistance between all members, taking into account the cultural exception in each country. He called the A-WEB to a cooperation with Haiti as part of strengthening of the permanent administrative and technical structures of the Council and the modernization of the Haitian electoral system to curb fraud and prevent violence.

Wishing to invite the Association to a technical observations mission in Haiti, Mr. Ménard recalled the will of CTCEP to keep its independence and organize fas soon as possible, in accordance with the law, free elections and inclusive, while urging politicians to self-transcendence, "because no sacrifice is too great for the greater good of the common fatherland."
