Haiti - Training : Presentation of Certificates of Professional Competence to 218 mechanics
Thursday at the Vocational School JB Damier, President Michel Martelly, proceeded to the delivery of Professional Competence Certificates to 218 participants of the Pilot Project for Advanced Mechanics evolving in Sous-Rail. The ceremony was attended, among others by, Ms. Marina Gourgues, the Secretary of State for Vocational Training, Ms. Magareth Rose Beaulière, Director of the National Institute of Vocational Training (INFP) and the Departmental Delegate West Gonzague Day.

The objective of this pilot project, launched by President Martelly on September 12, was to develop the manual skills and improve the quality of service offered to customers by strengthening the capacity of these professionals in the informal sector, for a better production in terms of auto mechanics, particularly electricity, air conditioning and sheet metal work.

This training, conducted under the auspices of the Presidency, was conducted in three centers in the metropolitan area: JB Damier (Port-au-Prince) for electricity, Pilot Center (Drouillard) for sheet metal work and APEX (Delmas) for cooling.

Together with the Secretariat of State for Vocational Training, the Head of State is considering scholarships for some mechanics of Sous-Rail. This project will reach other professionals in various parts of the country, as in the neighborhood of Bel-Air where the starting is set in November.
