The 2nd Annual Conference on Haiti, organized by the ational Association of Haitian Professionals (NAHP) will be held this year at the Columbia University in Manhattan (New York) on 1 and 2 November 2013.

This Conference will be held under the theme : Models, Methods, and Mechanisms for Diaspora Engagement in Haiti: Leveraging Knowledge, Skills and Resources for Mutual Economic Development.

For two days, participants in the workshops will discuss among other things the issue of integration of the Diaspora in the development process of Haiti, the obstacles they face when it is necessary to find professional connections in the U.S. and investment in Haiti but also to invest in Haiti. An action plan on Diaspora engagement will be developed and presented by the participants in the plenary session.

Founded in 2011, the "National Association of Haitian Professionals" is a non-profit organization that has a mission to prepare Haitian professionals for leadership positions, increase the number of Haitians in various business communities and engage the Haitian diaspora in development.
