"The objective is to encourage bilateral trade valued at a little over $61 million in 2012," indicated Marco Antonio Fraire, the Chargé d'Affaires Mexican of the Embassy "We want to take advantage of the willingness of the Government to open Haiti to foreign investment, to strengthen ties with that country, but also identify with the businessmen the products that our two countries can exchange [...] There are a loss of income (revenue shortfall) for the two countries, estimated at more than $500 million, this is a loss for Haiti and Mexico," concluded the Mexican diplomat.
