Sunday, November 3, 2013, nearly 48,000 runners from around the world took the departure in different categories for the New York Marathon, a race of 42.195 km. The Marathon was won among men by Kenyan Geoffrey Mutai with a time of 02h 08mn 24 seconds and among women by Kenyan Priscah Jeptoo with a time of 02h 25mn 07 seconds.

Remember that Haiti participated for the first time in its history, to this international competition. The Haitian team of the NGO J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO) founded by American actor Sean Penn, coached by Gérard Cassamajor, was composed of 5 runners whose only 4 took the departure (Petrus Cesarion, 31, (Arcahaie), bib 20636, did not participate in the race)

For this first participation Haiti made our pride, all our runners completed the Marathon and one of our finished in 200th place !

Astrel Clovis, 43, (Cayes), bib 20633 crossed the line of 5km in 0:19:13, the 10km in 0:35:25, the halfway mark in 1:19:39, the 25th km in 1:35:27, the 40th km in 2:37:48 and crossed the finish line with a time of 2h 46mn 52 seconds.

Macksony Jean, 27, (Cayes), bib 20635 crossed the line of 5km in 0:19:14, the 10km in 0:37:26, the halfway mark in 1:19:41, the 25th km in 1:35:28, the 40th km in 2:42:04 and has crossed the finish line with a time of 2 hours 53 minutes 05 seconds.

Bertine Laine, 31, (Cayes),bib 20634 has crossed the line of 5 km in 0:23:42, the 10km in 0:46:07, the halfway mark in 1:36:19, the 25th km in 1:54:29, the 40th km in 3:05:00 and has crossed the finish line with a time of 3 hours 15 minutes 41 seconds.
