Haiti - Reconstruction : Evaluation of the priority projects of the Government

Thursday, as part of the periodic evaluation of the priority projects in the various municipalities of the country, Laurent Lamothe, as Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, chaired to the Ministry of Planning, an important meeting to which participated among others: Thomas Jacques, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development and Jacques Rousseau, Minister of Public Works, Transport, Energy and Communications.

Laurent Lamothe highlighted the progress made ​​in the implementation of some major projects such as the construction of Lycées Toussaint Louverture and Alexandre Petion, of market of Martissant and of Wharf of érémie located in the town of Cité Soleil.

For his part, the Minister Jacques Thomas drew a positive balance and listed the results obtained in the implementation of some projects such as the redevelopment of 42 rivers, the rehabilitation of 160 gullies; the production of 3.5 million fry (small fish) compared to 1.5 million last year. The Minister also announced the progress of the ongoing work of cleaning and containment on the river Froide upstream of the road leading to Anse-à-Veau.

Jacques Rousseau, made ​​a brief presentation of completed projects including : the road of Canapé-vert, teh road of Delmas 42, the orad of Cayes- Jérémie, the bridge over the river Glace, the road from Carrefour Dufort to Jacmel, the road of the Amitié andf the rehabilitation of the port of Les Cayes.

The Deputy François Malherbe (Bainet) who attended the meeting expressed satisfaction regarding the work ongoing in its town such as the construction of Lycée of Bainet and concreting of more than 80% of its town.
