Haiti - Tourism : New Edition of the Binational Fair Ecotourism and Production
Wednesday the Organizing Committee of the Binational Fair Ecotourism and Production, headed by the Ministry of Tourism, and composed of the Foundation for the Development of Alternative Tourism in Haiti (FONDTAH), "Sant Pon Ayiti", "Komite Devlopman Lokal" (KDL), of Office of the Deput of Savanette and the Science and Art Foundation of the Dominican Republic, will proceed to the official launch of the new Edition, which will take place in the town of Savanette well known by the name City of Water (Central Department / Bas Plateau Central), from 30 November to 15 December 2013 around the theme "For a binational ecotourism road."

The construction of this road, whose the entrance door will be San Juan de la Maguana and the intersection door Savanette, can lead to the Loop Central Artibonite and even the Great North would allow to have major economic impact of this event and generate the visit of about 50,000 people per year in the town of Savanette and the Central Plateau, according to organizers.

Like the previous editions, this new edition, both educational, recreational, cultural and commercial, which takes place every two years under the auspices of the City Councils of Savanette and of Hondo Valle, aims to strengthen economic and trade cultural relations between Haiti and the Dominican Republic and encourage twinning of two neighboring towns around specific development goals.

"The Binational Fair is a factor of local development, an opportunity for the development of border cities, to develop eco-tourism in the country, to protect the environment and the natural resources, cultural and historical at the two countries to strengthen solidarity, peace and harmony between the two peoples," stressed Father Yves Edmond, Coordinator of "Sant Pon Ayiti"
