Haiti - Energy : 10 million euros from Germany for the Hydroelectric plant of Péligre
Monday, the Government, represented by Wilson Laleau, Minister of Economy and Finance, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Germany, for an amount of €10 million to finance the rehabilitation of the Hydroelectric plant of Péligre (Central Department), the largest hydroelectric plant in the country.

In the presence of Jacques Rousseau, Minister of Public Works, Transportation and Communications and the Director General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH), Klaus Peter Shick, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany accredited in Haiti, has reiterated its commitment to participate in strengthening of 5 "E" of President Martelly, particularly that of energy, so that in the near future, Haiti can benefit from electricity 24/24.

In addition to thisfinancial contribution, the German Cooperation provides its technical support for out Péligre of a production of 10 megawatts being produced and bring its maximum possible performance, between 45 and 48 megawatts.
