Haiti - Economy : «Time is no longer to the finding, but to the decisions»
The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) has organized a Strategic Orientation council, chaired by the Minister Wilson Laleau, which has among others allowed to discuss the situation confronted by the General Administration of Customs (AGD), make the evaluation of oil revenues, analyze the collection of tax revenues.

Minister Laleau is committed with the Office of Monetization of Development Assistance Programs, represented by Michael Lecorp, its Director General, to facilitate the purchase of equipment to improve the situation of oil storage in the country in order to receive financial benefits at the time of purchase, at the same time reducing the government deficit and avoid delay in distribution to pump for users "Time is no longer to the finding, but to the decisions," stressed the Minister "The Government wants to work in the public interest to allow Haiti to walk on the path of sustainable development."

Moreover, the Minister of Finance, accompanied by members of his cabinet, Directors General of MEF, of Budget, of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGI) and the General Administration of Customs responded last week at the invitation of the Senate Committee "Economy and Finance", chaired by Senator Jocelerme Privert to provide some clarification on the financing of several projects across the country.

The meeting allowed the two parties to exchange with friendliness on 3 major points: The current situation of the AGD, the various projects to be implemented on the île-à-vache, the adoption of the draft Finance Act 2013 - 2014. Eager to establish a climate of trust and maintain transparency and information sharing, the Minister proposed to Senate monthly working sessions to better monitor the ongoing reform of the MEF.
