Haiti - Politic : President Martelly in Jamaica for 3 days
This Wednesday, President Michel Martelly at the head of a delegation, will leave the country to go to Jamaica for a 3-day visit, he will be greeted upon arrival at the Norman Manley International Airport by the Governor General, Sir Patrick Allen and Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller.

During this visit, the Chief of the Haitian State will meet with the Governor General, the Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition. He will also hold talks with Prime Minister Simpson Miller and members of the Cabinet, heads of executive agencies and the private sector on a number of bilateral, regional and multilateral issues. Security, trade and investment, tourism, sport and culture and the support of CARICOM to in Haiti are on the agenda for discussion.

President Martelly will also visit the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF), the College of Agriculture, Science and Education (CASE) in Portland and the Jamaica Broilers in St Catherine. He will also lay a wreath at the monument of the Venezuelan liberator Simon Bolivar and meet with members of the Haitian diaspora in Jamaica.

Welcoming the visit of President Martelly, Prime Minister Simpson Miller said it will serve to deepen the longstanding friendship that both countries enjoy adding "As one of our closest neighbours, Haiti has always been a great friend of this country and I look forward to strengthening the bilateral ties that will enhance the growth and development of both Haiti and Jamaica."

President Martelly and the delegation will return to Haiti on Friday November 15.
