![]() Haiti - Economy : Green light for Sunrise Airways to fly towards Santo Domingo 13/11/2013 09:58:02
Santo Domingo became the third international route opened by Sunrise Airways in 2013. The carrier launched a new service between Cap-Haitien and Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, August 26, 2013. It was the turn of the route Port-au-Prince and Holguin, Cuba on 1 November 2013. "As the majority of our staff is composed of Haitians and nationals of the Dominican Republic, all of us at Sunrise Airwaysare very proud to bring the air service between our two countries to new heights of excellence," declared Philippe Bayard, President of Sunrise Airways. "Our dream to establish a hub in Port-au-Prince in order to better serve the western Caribbean nears its completion with this new route to Santo Domingo, serving both business and leisure travelers with a high quality service and reliability." The new service between Port-au-Prince and Santo Domingo will work every day except Saturday. Sunrise Airways flights between Port-au-Prince and Santo Domingo are sold in conjunction with SIREP Tours for purchase through travel agents in Haiti and the Dominican Republic "When the market will be ready, we plan to move towards a passenger service on a regular schedule," said Mr. Bayard. The airline currently operates daily scheduled passenger service between Cap Haitien and Providenciales, Turks & Caicos, as well as domestic routes within Haiti, and charter flights to various gateways throughout the Western Caribbean. New service to Holguin, Havana and Santiago in Cuba, Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic, and Kingston, Jamaica are planned for 2013.
