Haiti - Literature : Dany Laferrière received a doctorate «honoris causa» 21/11/2013 10:38:57 inscribed in cultural diversity and the Quebec reality of the past 30 years. Dany Laferrière, foreseen for chair #2, to the French Academy (in competition with two other writers: Arthur Pauly and Jean-Claude Perrier) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-9730-haiti-culture-dany-laferriere-candidate-for-the-french-academy.html , became, an honorary one of 227,000 graduates from UQAM. His twentieth novel, Journal d’un écrivain en pyjama (Diary of a Writer in pajamas) published at Mémoire d’encrier, is one of the finalists for the general public of the 36th Montreal Book Fair (November 20 to 25 at Place Bonaventure). Remember that Haiti [Booth # 617] is the guest of honor at this year's show. Many Haitian writers or of Haitian origin, novelists, short story writers, poets, essayists, historians and thinkers, will be present in the pavilion "Haiti to honor" (Haïti à l'honneur) installed in the fair, for book signings sessions.
