Haiti - Tourism : Things are moving everywhere !
Development project of Bassin Bleu
A meeting between the Town Hall of Jacmel, the Departmental Directorates of Tourism and Environment Southeast and representatives of the Caribbean Biological Corridor: CBC/Welthungerhife was organized to create a synergy between the partners involved in the development of the natural site of Bassin Bleu, located in Jacmel in the rural section Lavanneau and schedule project activities.

On Tuesday, a site visit was conducted by Ms. Dithny Joan Raton, Director of Tourism South East to see the progress of works relating to the cleaning of the site, cleaning of basins, trail improvements, creating discovery trails around biodiversity.



CBC/Welthungerhife, takes into account the planting of fruit and forest trees and their maintenance upstream of the site to reduce erosion directly on the waterfalls, the development and distribution of brochures on biodiversity of the site, training of farmers and guides on agroforestry systems, the nterpretation in several languages ​​of trees and endemic species. The road of Bassin Bleu (5 kms) will be rehabilitated by the Ministry of Public Works.

Mission of M.Tourteau Christian in the town of Milot
Wednesday, the Northern Regional Director of the Ministry of Tourism, accompanied by several officers, welcomed the Economist Tourteau Christian, Chargé de mission of the Ministry of Tourism for the town of Milot.

The objectives of its mission was to meet Mr. Maurice Etienne (owner of Cultural Centre Lakou Lakay) in order to assist him in the development of a Business plan for institution ; meet and talk with the youth of the community to create in them a spirit of creation of "Small Business" on the tourism sector ; study the feasibility of a project of "Briqueterie" in the area for economic improvement of residents.

Loyalty Card of the Tourism Association of Haiti
Tourism Association of Haiti (ATH) has recently presented its loyalty card, which aims to promote tourism and consumption in tourist facilities in Haiti. According to Ms. Valérie Louis, the cardholders will receive discounts at more than a hundred of tourist establishments in the country, travel agencies, airlines, hotels etc... [up to 30%].

For Richard Buteau, the President of the ATH, this card will allow Haitians who used to spend their holidays abroad to spend their holidays in Haiti while realizing savings in its various trips with the ​​family.



This card for a period of one year is sold by ATH at a price of U.S. $ 100 (± 4,000 gourdes). According to ATH, the funds raised by the sale of these cards will be used to promote tourism in Haiti and train young professionals in this sector.
