Haiti - Culture : Workshop 83 of creation and production at Gheskio Centre
Tuesday, Josette Darguste, the Acting Minister of Culture, visited the Gheskio Centre looking for new talent, since those responsible for this important Center for HIV, have been in place since May 2013, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), a community workshop of creation and production, in line with the development of inclusive markets and social cohesion in areas of downtown of Port-au-Prince.

The Ministry of Culture, through the National School of Arts (ENARTS), participated in the formation of most of these young people, 70% are women, particularly in the fields of painting, sculpture and making masks in paper mache. Other beneficiaries are also trained in sewing and woodworking. The Minister was convinced of the richness and diversity of the creative imagination of the young "Thanks to these workshops, they can take their destiny in hand."



300 participants from disadvantaged communities in the area of ​​Downtown (Cité de Dieu, Cité Éternel and Martissant), have received training, aimed at strengthening the economic capacity and improving the living conditions of the families of beneficiaries.

Yet sixty young people work in these workshops called "Workshops 83".
