Haiti - Carnival 2014 : Prime Minister Lamothe calls for serenity
On Friday, Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, also President of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN) invited the general population and revelers in particular to respect the measures taken by the National Police of Haiti and judicial authorities within the context of national Carnival which will be held in Gonaives 2, 3 and 4 March 2014 on the theme "Tèt Kole pou Ayiti pi Djanm".

For this purpose, 2,125 police officers of the different corps of the National Police of Haiti (PNH): Body Intervention and Maintenance of Order (CIMO), the intervention force SWAT Team, the Departmental Unit of maintenance of order (UDMO), the Motorised Brigade of Intervention and the new Brigade Mounties https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10606-haiti-security-on-foot-by-bicycle-by-car-or-on-horseback.html , will be deployed in Gonaïves to ensure the safety of revelers.

The Prime Minister, who praised the efforts of all those involved in the implementation of the National Carnival, launched an appeal to the serenity to all its citizens, inviting them to entertain fraternally and reject violence during these popular festivities, which will contribute according to him "to improve the socio-economic situation of several thousand of artibonitiens and promote the cultural sector."
