Haiti - Diaspora : 6th annual Business Investment Expo & Conference 09/02/2015 10:44:48 "We are very proud to co-host this important expo with the World Bank Group and partners like the U.S. Chamber of Commerce," declared Firmin Backer, President of HRA Expo. "The Caribbean can be an even greater economic driver in the Western Hemisphere, particularly in the energy and technology sectors, and HRA is pleased this is also a priority for U.S. and global leaders." Over 3,000 participants from 12 countries have attended the HRA Expo since its launch in 2010. Over the last six years, the conference has emerged as the premier and the largest platform for the private sector, investors, entrepreneurs, start-ups, diaspora groups, government officials, and NGOs to collaborate, form partnerships, share best practices, and discuss ideas to advance sustainable development in the Caribbean. HRA’s signature Investor's Tank – which is inspired by the hit TV show "Shark's Tank" - is among this year’s many workshops, seminars, and panels. To date, 16 businesses have pitched in the tank with three receiving up to $500,000 in financial support. In addition to the World Bank Group as a co-host, principal partners include the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, USAID, Pan American Development Foundation, along with the U.S. Commerce Department’s Minority Business Development Agency, Haiti’s Center for Investment, Embassy of Haiti, AmCham Haiti, and The Raben Group. This event is open to the media and the public.
