Haiti - Elections : Lut Faber would have better done to be keep silent
The Head of the Delegation of the European Union in Haiti, Lut Faber-Gossens said in a press conference that there was no obstacle to holding elections Sunday in Haiti. She stressed that the electoral timetable is respected and that "there is no particular problem to go to vote".

Lut Fabert even wanted to clarify "that the environment in Haiti is comparable to any country that prepares Election " [!]

She considers, essential to elect, as scheduled next Sunday, a new president and a new parliament, "Do not have an election right now could jeopardize political stability in Haiti. One is in full rebuilding a country, we need a government capable of handling the situation. It can not be any interruption in the momentum created after the earthquake" adding that "Cholera should not prevent Haitians from voting Sunday. Everything is ready, Minustah is ready to ensure safety" said the European diplomat.

We are pleased to learn of this "eminent diplomat," that the pre-election situation in Haiti is comparable to that of any other country [?]. For a moment we thought the election violence in Haiti was an exception... We did not know until now, that the elections in Europe engendered similar abuses.

Wanting reassurance is something, say anything is another. Lut Faber missed an opportunity to shut up. She says "one is in full rebuilding a country", and talks about the risk of interruption "of the momentum created". She must have a "good view", because on the field, this reconstruction and momentum, are hardly visible, unless for this diplomat, the momentum reconstruction refers to the proliferation of camps in our country ?

She thinks reassure us when she said that Minustah is ready to provide security for elections...? When we know, it took 4 days, 4 died and over 20 wounded with Minustah, to restore security in the North, face some thugs and criminals with guns, we can only doubt her words. Furthermore, recall that at present the mere presence of peacekeepers is sufficient to cause anti-Minustah movements.
