Aniya Necol Louissaint was our last medal hope for Haiti at Rio Olympics Games (Brazil) 2016, after being defeated by the French world champion 2013, Haby Niaré 5-4 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18364-haiti-rio-2016-aniya-necol-louissaint-almost-won-against-the-world-champion-update-1.html , which is in final and is certain to have at least the silver medal; our Haitian taekwondo found herself in the repechage, where she had to face the Ivorian Ruth Marie Christelle Gbagbi (loser 1/4 finals), 22 years old, 1.76m for 65kg.
The combat took place in 3 rounds of two minutes, Ruth Marie Christelle Gbagbi was declared the winner by points 7-2, for the Haitian 2 points earned by attack, 0 points earned by sanction, while for the Ivorian 7 points earned by attack, 0 points won by saction.
If she had won Aniya Necol Louissaint would have faced Farida Azizova (loser 1/2 finals) of Azerbaijan, before participating in the final combat for the bronze medal.
Hours earlier, the Haitian wrestler Asnage Castelly, had also had the chance to go to the repechage, with hopes of winning a bronze medal, however, are opponent has settled the case in less than a minute, with a score of 12-0.
