Monday, the hospital's resident physicians of the State University of Haiti (HUEH) announced the official end of the strike, which paralyzed the largest public hospital in Haiti since March 28 and thereafter all public hospitals across national territory.

"We learned that sanitation and rehabilitation work is underway in hospitals, that inputs are being delivered as we demanded," added Dr. Aubourg which highlights the agreement for gradual adjustment of fees for residents and interns, stating that the Government had promised a 200% increase in fees for residents and resident doctors, waiting to bring them to 25 and 30 thousand gourdes.

For Dr. Aubourg this strike should never have to last as long, accusing the authorities of being responsible for the slow pace of negotiations to address their claims... forgetting to mention the intransigence of the residents doctors throughout the conflict that made several victims...

Notes that a follow up governmental commission of public hospitals has been put in place to avoid the repetition of such a situation...
