Haiti - Politic : Installation of the Committee of facilitation of the inter-Haitian dialogue, already a resignation ! 26/02/2019 08:14:16

A resignation that caused Friday the issuance of a second statement that is no longer included in the mandate of the Committee to establish a new government... Extracts from the speech of the Head of State : "The time is serious. As a nation we have reached limits that weaken us day by day. Who question our existence as a free people responsible for their destiny. Our pride should be no longer of history. We have the responsibility to lay the foundations that will guarantee an intended destination, shared by all layers of society. It is our duty to enter the era of building a country free from the demons of division, hatred and infighting. Above all, we must stop the practices that have led us to desolation, misfortune and precariousness, which are just the beginning of a collective suicide ... Before we continue "Unfortunately, we have once again witnessed of troubles that have severely weakened our economy, which have touched the future of our country in the soul, and which force us to question our institutional structures and our choices of public policy. [...] For more than 30 years we have, among other characteristics, "THE INSTABILITY". [...] Only if all of us, regardless of our political beliefs or our special interests, work together can we meet the country's challenges. And one of the biggest challenges in the country was and still is political instability. How we meet this challenge will determine our ability to educate our children, create good jobs and protect our homeland, in other words, to secure OUR FUTURE. [...] The moment is propitious for national elites, elected officials and state officials at all levels, for every citizen, every citizen to face their Haitian responsibilities to identify our common heritage as a nation and to to prove that we are able to hear each other. Head of State, I assumed my responsibility by appealing to daughters and sons of the country, from diverse backgrounds, to create the Committee to Facilitate Inter-Haitian National Dialogue. I hope that this committee will work hard to find the best way to conduct this Inter-Haitian National Dialogue which will lead to concrete, constitutionally-friendly, inclusive proposals to lead the country towards stability. [...] Whatever sector you identify with, be it economic, intellectual, political, social, or cultural; Whatever your personal interest, the essential thing is to talk to each other.
