While the opposition continues to refuse to dialogue with the Government, the Secretariat General of the Presidency informs that following his last message to the Nation inviting the daughters and sons of Haiti to dialogue to find durable solutions to major problems that have slowed the economic development of the country for decades https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-26937-haiti-flash-jovenel-moise-leaves-his-silence-and-addresses-the-nation.html , President Jovenel Moïse, proceeded to the formation of the "Inter-Haitian National Dialogue Facilitation Committee" by decree, published in the Official Journal "Le Moniteur" #26 dated 21 February 2019.

This Committee is composed of 7 personalities mostly unknown to the general public, will be installed Monday, February 25 and will get to work quickly so that, within a period not exceeding fifteen days, it can engage in the respect for the Constitution, a political dialogue, frank and sincere to lead to the establishment of an inclusive Government capable of responding to the aspirations of the population. Within this period, this committee will have to define the appropriate methodological framework to facilitate the progress of the discussions and to recommend all the measures likely to favor the creation of favorable conditions for the realization of the inter-Haitian dialogue.

It will also have to expand its work with a view to establishing a constructive dialogue with the active participation of political, economic and social figures and civil society organizations.

Members of the Facilitation Committee of the Inter-Haitian National Dialogue :

3- The citizen Carlo Joseph;

4- The citizen Dorothie Sénatus;

5- Citizen Charles Suffrard;

6- The Marie Michelle citizen Sylvie Rameau;

7- The citizen Rudolph Dérose;

Throughout its mandate, the Committee to Facilitate Inter-Haitian Dialogue will provide weekly updates on the state of play of the dialogue. At the end of this dialogue, the Committee will submit a report to the Head of State, which will include, on the one hand, short-term solutions to political problems and, on the other hand, structural solutions to the problems of political and economic governance in Haiti. This report will be made public.
