Haiti - Politic : The Formation of the CEP and Constituent Assembly are progressing slowly...

In fact, negotiations to form the new CEP and the National Constituent Assembly are progressing slowly...

Several organizations have not yet chosen their representatives to integrate these structures which will make it possible to endow Haiti with a new Constitution before next summer and the holding of general elections this year according to the declarations of the Prime Minister.

The Federation of Haitian Bars, which was to appoint 3 representatives to the National Constituent Assembly, has not yet taken a decision "[...] We say it clearly for public opinion, we have no formal commitment with the Prime Minister on any point. We told him that we are going to hold consultations and will give him an answer" specifies Me Robinson Pierre-Louis, Secretary General of the FHB

According to the agreement of September 11 article 17, the agreement the National Constituent Assembly will be composed of 33 members composed as follows:

Federation of Bars of Haiti: 3 members including at least one woman;
Conference of Rectors, Presidents and Leaders of Higher Education Institutions in Haiti (CORPUHA): 3 members including at least one woman;
Louis Joseph Janvier Chair: 1 member;
Departmental representation: 10 members including at least 3 women;
Diaspora: 2 members including at least one woman;
Youth sector: 1 member;
Women's sector: 1 member;
Cultural sector: 1 member;
Olympic Committee: 1 member;
Peasant sector 1 member;
People with disabilities: 1 member;
Executive power: 4 members including at least two women;
Political parties signatory to the September 11 agreement: 4 members including at least 2 women.
