Haiti - Politic : The President Martelly met with the G16 16/09/2011 10:37:10
Wednesday evening in the private residence of the Prime Minister resigned Jean-Max Bellerive, the President Martelly met with 13 Senators of the Group of 16. The Head of State asked the Senators to support by their votes, the Prime Minister-designate and has discussed of the urgency of tackling the major social issues. The Senator Simon Dieuseul Deras Centre - LAVNI) has indicated following this meeting " [...] The President took the opportunity to ask us the support of the G16 for the Prime Minister designated by him, as part of our mandate and within the limits of what the law says. The President said that he would like that we support his Prime Minister "Tét Kalé" for him. We responded to the President, when the Chamber of Deputies will have finished with their process, when it will be on our side, we will support his Prime Minister but it's "Ye Kalé" and not "Tét Kalé" ...I am not only Senator of the Central Plateau, I am a Senator of the Republic [...] it is necessary that the negotiations do not just lean to one side. I must know if the Prime Minister will help everyone, this is a commitment and a guarantee that we need [...] we insisted to request that there is a sharing of responsibilities... because there is no country in the world where a political assembly, a Chamber of Deputies or the Senate [...] has no representatives in the government. There is no doubt at this level [...] we didn't yet agree on this point, must agree on this point, it's obliged" The Senator Joseph Lambert explained to the Head of State, that him and his colleagues in the G16 are not a tool of blocking... announcing that a definitive position will be adopted after analysis of the documents of the candidate for Prime Minister.
