Haiti - Politic : New statement around the candidacy of Dr. Garry Conille
The Deputy Abel Descolines, Mirebalais/Boucan Carré (LAVNI) Recording secretary of the Special Commission in charge of reviewing the record of Dr. Garry Conille said Monday that the Commission began the examination of the documents "...we will verify the authenticity of documents and after, with our various consultants, specialists in international law and constitutional law, we will confront their ideas on the question of the residence of Prime Minister-designate. Already, in the documents submitted there is a certificate of residence issued by a town hall of the metropolitan area and a certificate of residence issued by the justice of Port-au-Prince to Mr. Garry Conille [...] the only thing we can say today, is that we commit within the Special Commission this time, to make recommendations in one way or the other to the Assembly of Deputies, we will not let uncertainty persist [...]."

According to the Senator Moïse Jean-Charles, many Senators from different political blocs, would be favorable to the ratification of Prime Minister-designate, Dr. Garry Conille. However, the senator has wished to clarify that the GPR has not yet taken a position for or against the ratification of the candidate for Prime Minister's Office, recalling that since this designation, no meeting of the GPR was held on this subject, adding that "Contrary to the vote of Daniel-Gérard Rouzier, which was political and that of Me Bernard Honorat Gousse which was highly political, the vote of the ratification of Dr. Conille will be technico-political..."

The vote of Deputy Pierre Martin Tatoute Bassin-Bleu (INITE), member of the GPR is in favor of the Prime Minister-designate, a position that he generalizes to the GPR, but which engages only himself "Dr. Garry has international experience that is good for us because we have a weakness at this level. A weakness in our ability to discuss with the international community, because it has always criticized our Haitian officials, not to have capacity, to lack of arguments, because they did not know the secrets of the international, how make deals with them. It's one of the force of Dr. Garry, and the country can count on. The GPR will vote Dr. Garry [...] everyone has the intention to say that it is the GPR that blocks the country. The GPR has protected the country when it has not voted for the first people that the President has designated [...] I think that today, the GPR is ready to give the President the Prime Minister because the President chose his Prime Minister... President you have your Prime Minister."

However the Senator Jean William Jeanty (Nippes) is far from sharing this opinion "...This is not because we have rejected two choices, that we are obliged to take any option. We are parliamentarians and we have to respect the compass of the Constitution, for no reason in the world we can violate the Constitution [...] so, we have no obligation to take as a person, who not only will be the cause of a violation of the Constitution, but also, who will bury the strand of sovereignty that we still have in the country. We can not get into that logic..."
