Haiti - Politic : Legislative elections, political parties are getting impatient...
Several leaders of political parties have called last Friday, the head of the Executive to take appropriate action for the organization of future elections. These elections scheduled to take place, in principle, by the end of this year, will renew among others, the third of Senators.

The Senator Edmonde Supplice Bauzile, new President of the Fusion of Social Democrats https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-3897-haiti-politic-the-senator-edmonde-supplice-beauzile-new-president-of-fusion.html deplores the uncertainty and the Government's silence around the date of the next election. An absence that poses a problem to the political parties, that must in particular make the choice of candidates, conduct primary and arrange for the holding of these elections "...political parties, are the first concerned by this election and it is not normal that we still do not know the state of the situation..." She calls for for the consultation of the parties in order to make recommendations to the Head of State for the establishment of a new Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), an electoral calendar and a new electoral law.

Sauveur Pierre-Etienne, the new leader of the Organization of People in Struggle (OPL), also advocates for the establishment of a new CEP credible for good elections "No one should imagine that the political parties will agree to go to the polls with a CEP not credible," he argues. According to him, "the time has come for the President Martelly to prove his willingness to break with the past, according to his campaign promises."
