Haiti - Politic : The Senator Edmonde Supplice Beauzile new President of Fusion

During the second congress of the Fusion of Haitian Social Democrats, held in Mirebalais, Central Plateau, on September 24 and 25, 2011, the 350 delegates of the Fusion have elected the Senator Edmonde Supplice Beauzile [Central Department] at the head of party, this Sunday, September 25. Fusion made part with the Organization of People in Struggle (OPL) and Alyans Demokratik, of the political grouping "Alternative" second political force in parliament after INITE.
Edmonde Supplice Beauzile succeeds to Victor Benoit who now holds the position of counselor. At the same time Ghislene Monpremier becomes the new vice president and Rosemond Pradel the new Secretary General of the party.
In its inaugural speech, before 700 delegates and guests, the new president pledged to work for the impoverished masses, to combat the impunity, struggle in favor of the social justice and sustainable development. She made an impassioned appeal to all activists to work tirelessly to bring the party to power in 2016.
According Victor Benoît and Serge Gilles [two former leaders of the party], this congress is a milestone in the evolution and the modernization of the Fusion, with the emergence of a new leadership based on women and youth. After Mirlande Manigat (RDNP) Ms. Beauzile, becomes the second woman to head a political party in Haiti.
