Haiti - Diaspora: The cane cutters of Barahona received a passport 15/11/2012 08:26:48
Philippe Brunet, Consul of the Republic of Haiti in Barahona, Dominican Republic, accompanied by Célestin Miousemine, of Consulate of the city, gave the first passports for the Haitian agricultural workers, working in the fields of sugar cane of this region, to Me Andrés Mota Doñé, Human Resources Director of the "Consorcio Azucarero Central" (CAC).
Me Doñé declared "it is a first lot of passport to be delivered to the Haitian workers of sugarcane fields, working in the 'Consorcio Azucarero Central' (CAC) [...]so they can work legally in our society [...] Through this initiative, our Company, claims to be in good standing with the legalization of all our employees of Haitian nationality [...] in accordance with the immigration laws of the Dominican Republic."
