Haiti - Politic : Simon Dieuseul Desras victim of widespread misunderstanding ?
Wednesday, Simon Dieuseul Desras, the President of the Senate reacted to the various interpretations of his letter sent to Chilean Parliament, in the media and in particular Tuesday by Senator Wencesclas Lambert, President of the Commission "Foreign Affairs" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10009-haiti-politic-strong-reactions-of-senator-lambert-wencesclas-about-the-letter-of-desras.html describing this action of "high treason", "crime of lese Fatherland". Senator Desras rejected the allegations according to whom he would have asked the Chilean government to interfere in the internal affairs of Haiti. "The zealous partisans of power have misquoted simply in order to tarnish my image," acknowledging having also sent this letter to the Uruguayan and Brazilian parliaments...

Concerning the statements for the less direct of Senator Lambert, Simon Dieuseul Desras simply asserts that the Senator had doubtless "badly kept the letter by reading it or had difficulties in French, which would explain his lack of understanding [...]" For Steven Benoit, these attacks against Senator Desras are linked to the struggle against the election of new office in January 2014.

For his part, the Vice-President of the Senate, Senator Andrice Riché has described as pitiful the statements of his colleague Lambert which "has understood nothing to the spirit of the letter." Senators would have been well aware of the approach of the President of the Senate, according to Steven Benoit, the first Secretary of the office.

Although he defends to not having asked through the Chilean Parliament not to interfere in the affairs of Haiti, it remains that the wish expressed in his letter "The Haitian Parliament is convinced that the troops of your country would choose, if the turn of events requires, to defend the Haitian people thirsty for democracy against the excesses of a totalitarian and arbitrary power. By my body, the Parliament hastened to sound the alarm bell on this announced catastrophe, hoping from your part all approachs dissuasive, all prohibitive measures that are consistent with the best impulses of parliamentary solidarity." is a very clear request, in diplomatic terms, to take a position in the internal affairs of our country.

If this was not the case, why the Chilean Foreign Minister, Alfred Moreno has publicly rejected Monday that Chilean troops detached in Haiti get involved in the internal politics of our country if this was not implicitly in this letter a request "The troops are never intervened and they will never intervene or interfere with internal matters [...] We hope that political differences that exist are resolved in Haiti and in the same way that the institutions are improving and that the laws that allow them to function better be approved."

Why this letter qualified by Senator Desras of simple "warning that asks the Chilean Parliament to alert his government and his troops so that they make no reprisals against the population in case of political tension," has been qualified by the Chilean Deputy Jorge Tarud, a member of the Commission of Foreign Relations of the House of "totally unacceptable" ? https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10002-haiti-politic-chile-says-no-to-desras.html

Should we understood in the attempt to explain of the Senator Desras, that he's the ictim of a bad general interpretation, of members of the Chilean Government, members of the Haitian Government, the population, our readers and our fellow journalists, Latino and Haitian ?
