Haiti - Politic : The Villa d'Accueil and the new base of CIMO under construction 15/12/2013 09:44:19 The Villa d'Accueil will cost 2 million U.S. dollars to the Government and will allow to receive foreign dignitaries visiting Haiti. The work will be completed in April 2014. In addition, the State is increasing its efforts to strengthen the National Police of Haiti (PNH). Thus, the Government has already started the construction of a modern building to house the CIMO in order to provide it with a pleasant working environment. The new premises of over 1,500 square meters, which will have indoor pistol shooting range, dormitories for up to 400 police officers, cafeteria and play areas will amount to 4.5 million U.S. dollars. The Head of Government insisted that this 3-storey building, is delivered to the PNH with all the necessary equipment, a way to meet the promises made by the Head of State, during a visit to the former base of CIMO in Champs-de-Mars. https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-5160-haiti-security-the-president-martelly-visited-the-hq-of-the-cimo.html Jean Louis Olménar, Commander of CIMO, said he was satisfied with the work that will create favorable conditions to allow his team to perform their duties more professionally. "A fleet of more than a dozen vehicles as well as a promotion of more than one thousand new police officers will, shortly, strengthen the PNH in order to make it more effective in its mission to protect and serve the Haitian people," added the Head of Government. Laurent Lamothe took the opportunity to remind that the Haitian State implements over 800 projects across the country, which testify of the determination of his government to put the country on the track of progress.
