Haiti - Politic : Infrastructure Works in the Northwest 18/12/2013 11:58:28 As part of important infrastructure projects across the country launched by the Government enormous progress are noted particularly at Port-de-Paix. Following a field visit of the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, Laurent Lamothe, the Minister said he was determined to to commit themselves to improves the living conditions of the population of over 665,000 inhabitants of Northwest, once abandoned. In the town of Port-de-Paix, the construction of the Public Market Croix St-Joseph, 3rd communal section advancing significantly and is 60% completed. Other school and health facilities are also being built in this department. These achievements will help increase the socio-economic activities of the area. We must point out that all these projects proposed by municipalities, are made from municipal funds from a budget of 1.4 billion gourdes, with 10 million gourdes per commune.
