Haiti - Politic : Absenteeism reign in Parliament... 21/12/2013 09:32:56 Absenteeism seems to have become the norm for parliamentarians. Last example, on Thursday for the second time the meeting scheduled for the ratification of international agreements in favor of children has to be postponed sine die for lack of quorum, only ten deputies (on 90) and and a dozen senators (out of 20) were present... It seems that our deputies and senators are more concerned with the spirit of Christmas and the festivities that accompany it, than by their political and constitutional obligations and it is unlikely that a National Assembly can obtain a quorum before the end of this year.
