In accordance with internal regulations of the Chamber of Deputies and of Senate, the renewal of offices of the two chambers should take place "every 2nd Tuesday of January," or January 14, 2013, the day after the opening of the legislative year in which the Government will submit its balance sheet before the National Assembly.

However, to 6 days of this date, there is no date set for these elections.

For Jean Alexis Tholbert, the President of the Lower House, "this is not a topic" [!]. However, parliamentarians of the the pro-government majority group "Parliamentarians for Stability and Progress" (PSP) plans to meet to select their candidates for office.

On the Senate side, Simon Dieuseul Desras, the President of the Upper House, already renewed to this position plans to be candidate for the 3rd time.
