Chancellor Pierre-Richard Casimir held a working meeting with Ricardo Patiño, Minister of External Relations and Human Mobility of Ecuador, touring several countries in the region. On the agenda the Human Rights and bilateral cooperation.

During this meeting it was decided that Haiti and Ecuador would join efforts to ensure respect for human rights and to strengthen the levels of cooperation. Ricardo Patiño indicated that the Ministers of the Region, consulted during his tour had considered several issues on the bilateral agenda and is committed to further strengthen cooperation with Haiti.

Pierre-Richard Casimir, took this opportunity to reiterate the gratitude of Haiti for the cooperation of Ecuador in the reconstruction process.

"For us, it was very satisfying to contribute to the reconstruction of Haiti. Today, we have noticed a big change," declared Patiño, which highlighted the work of Ecuadorian engineers in this mission.

Moreover, the Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, revealed that the Chancellor Casimir will participate in the meeting of member states of the Pact of San José, to be held in Uruguay on 21 and 22 January, 2014 stressing the importance of the change of location of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), for a better balance between the member countries.
