Haiti - Reconstruction : Ecuador sent a new contingent of peacekeepers in Haiti

Friday, Maria Fernanda Espinosa, Minister of Defense of Ecuador, announced that his country had sent a new contingent of 66 peacekeepers to support the peacekeeping forces in Haiti. This contingent will support peacekeepers on the ground in their humanitarian missions "Today, a wind of peace and solidarity blowing through the continent," said Ecuadorian Minister, referring to the need for cooperation between the countries of Latin America, during the ceremony for the departure of the new contingent. Once there, Ecuadorian peacekeepers will bring medical assistance, help rebuild roads and highways and to maintain order in the main cities of the country.
