The Platform of Haitian Human Rights Organizations (POHDH), which considers imbalanced the participation of women compared to men in decision-making, political and public, reminds at the approach of elections, the importance of women's participation at all levels of the electoral process.

"Despite the presence of some women in the government, it did not allow to make too great strides in the fight for the respect of civil and political rights of Haitian women [...] a simple physical presence of women can not overcome the problem of the status of women [...] we must fight in order to deconstruct the idea that promotes the participation of women in a government as an instrument to give a good mark in the struggle for their effective participation in the management of public affairs."

To this end POHDH encourage the participation of women as candidates for all elective positions, noting that "their participation should not be spontaneous, but be carefully prepared for better representation in political power. In addition, the platform wishes to emphasize that women should not only be actives mobilizers or organizers of electoral campaigns, but they must also position themselves as voters and/or candidates of a system that takes into account their practical needs and strategic interests, what implies, emphasizes the POHDH "an initial approach, concerned about fairness in social projects of the candidates for election."

In addition, the platform appeals to political parties so that they promote the strategic positioning of women in senior management and on the electoral roll in a perspective of representation egalitarian "The presence of women in political parties is important because it can facilitate their access to power and political responsibilities. It is by militating in parties, that women can be elected at all levels to Parliament and other elected positions, enter in ministries and occupy important positions in the Public Administration."
