Haiti - Education : A group of teachers cease their strike in Petit-Goâve 10/02/2014 08:41:02
Sunday evening, a group of 15 teachers of Lycée Faustin Soulouque of Petit Goâve, decided to observe a truce and resume work in classrooms from Monday February 10.
These teachers say they have taken this decision because of the presence of political activist Me Andre Michel, who accompanied Josué Mérilien, the coordinator of the National Union of Haitian Normaliens (UNNOH) at a meeting of teachers held Sunday at Lycée Faustin Soulouque...
"We do not have to receive directives from Me Andre Michel, who spoke during the meeting. This is to ensure that a political connotation and misinterpretation be attributed to our claims movement hat we have chosen to waive the strike temporarily and we invite all students of lycée Faustin Soulouque to attend classroom from this Monday, Feb. 10," indicated dissident professors who still threaten to strike again in April, if the MoU is not complied." https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10383-haiti-education-truce-of-the-strike-of-public-sector-teachers.html
