Haiti - Tourism : Things are moving everywhere !

Meeting for project monitoring : Destinations Ile-à-Vache et Jacmel :

JThursday, in order to ensure the convergence of various projects and measure their progress, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism,  met the responsible for projects "Destination Ile-a-Vache" and "Destination Jacmel". This meeting was also an opportunity to discuss the status of projects in the historic center of Jacmel (Petion Bolivar Boulevard, Convention Center, portal Jacmel, renovation of facades of 10 houses identified and the cleaning program). It was stressed the need to accelerate the training of guards, that will help integrate the "sustainability" component in all tourism projects.

Two Wine and food journalists visiting Haiti :

Monday, in order to promote Haiti as a tourist destination, but also gastronomic, the Minister Villedrouin received two gourmet and wine journalist of Quebec , respectivelThierry Debeur, owner of the "Guide Debeur", the gourmet Guide of Quebecers and Ms. Béraud.  They will be in Haiti for a fortnight, during which they will visit Cap-Haitien, the Arcadins coast and several restaurants of the place, where they can enjoy, compare and fully experience the local dining experience. The good news is that not only they will take notes to feed their forthcoming articles on Haiti and its cuisine, but the country will also be listed in the 2015 edition of the Guide "Le Debeur". A first for Haiti !

Haiti agreeably surprised Caribbean Journalists :

On Monday, a delegation of 11 journalists from Guadeloupe left the country after a press trip of 5 days in the country https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10487-haiti-tourism-things-are-moving-everywhere.html .The goal for the organizers of this "Press Trip" was to test the package launched by the Agency Panchardt on the destination Haiti last December https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10058-haiti-news-some-news-here-and-there.html . This mission, that has agreeably surprised Caribbean journalists, conducted by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with Air France, agencies Panchardt and Citadelle, took place through a circuit Port-au-Prince, Arcadins Coast and Cap-Haïtien.

Master plan for the city of Cap Haitien :

Monday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism had a meeting with Frederick Mangonès of "Architecture and Development" and Eui-Sung Yi, Director of the "Now Institute" in the context of discussions about a master plan for the city of Cap Haitien (with images taken from a satellite), including current and future development projects.
