Haiti - Education : More than one million beneficiaries students of PNCS (2013-2014)

Myrtho René Cinéas, the General Coordinator of the National Program School Canteen (PNCS) reported that for 2012-2013, 930,000 students in 2,960 schools participating to the Universal Schooling Program Free and Compulsory (PSUGO), benefited from PNCS, whhse nearly 850,000 of whom were supported by the World Food Programme (WFP).

"The goal is to reach all students in the country, as want the Government" recalled the Coordinator of PNCS.

Note that 235 million gourdes were spent (2012-2013) for the implementation of this program, amount that was used to purchase food (local products) and operating costs. The PNCS allowed each day to answer more than 50% of the nutritional needs of a child.
