Haiti - Security : 18th anniversary of CIMO and a new HQ under construction

On Thursday, the President Michel Martelly, participated in the ceremony to celebrate the 18th anniversary of the Corps of Intervention and Maintenance of Order (CIMO) in the presence of the Chief Executive and members of the command of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), members of the Superior Council of the National Police (CSPN), mayors of the metropolitan area and many personalities from the religious sectors and Human Rights.

In his speech, the Head of State reiterated the commitment of his administration to provide a framework to the PNH and to work to strengthen it. He said noted with satisfaction that the CIMO has fulfilled his task, in recent times with the sense of the measure. Also he encouraged CIMO to continue to do so in compliance with the laws.

This new HQ will include a dormitory with a capacity of 400 beds, a cafeteria, a shooting space, laundry, gym, games room and parking for over 30 vehicles.
