Haiti - Social : Partial balance sheet of Carnival 2014

Carnival of Haiti that ended this morning after three days of festivities in Gonaives, Artibonite the 2,3 and 4 March 2014 under the theme "Tèt kole pou yon Ayiti pi djanm", ended with two fatalities and 132 injured, according to a partial balance sheet reported by a police source. One victim died after being rushed to hospital following an advanced state of drunkenness and the second is a police officer who was the victim of a traffic accident on March 3.

Hospital sources said that most of the wounded were injured by knives, bottles and others.

Also according to our sources, on the presidential stand, a cousin of the President of the Republic, Lesly "big" Martelly, was the victim of a heart failure and was transported by helicopter to the hospital in Canapé Vert, where his death was confirmed.
