Haiti - Social : Walkers for Peace are arrived in Port-au-Prince
Sunday, 7 Dominicans of the organization "Paz Dominicana" are arrived in Port-au-Prince as part of a march for peace. These Ambassadors of Peace, who left the Dominican Republic on February 25, intended to preach love, unity and brotherhood between the two peoples.

At the Champ de Mars, they were welcomed by Marie Carmele Rose Anne Auguste, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, in charge of Human Rights and the Fight against Poverty Extreme. On behalf of the Administration Martelly and of Government Lamothe, the Minister hailed this noble initiative to make our two countries an island of peace, free of conflict and hostilities "We must understand that peace and love are the only way for our governments to achieve prosperity and happiness of our two peoples. Today's walking is the proof that Dominicans and Haitians can live together. It is a powerful symbol of love and solidarity between our peoples."

"President Michel Joseph Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Salvador Lamothe have always expressed a desire to strengthen the historical ties and friendship between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. This walking shows that Dominicans and Haitians are called to live as inhabitants of the same island and make learning of the love and happiness like other peoples of Latin America."

Two artists Kalfou Richès, Walgens Pierre Jean and Papouche Romélus, created on site in that occasion, on the Champ de Mars, a beautiful fresco depicting the island unity with the vision of Toussaint Louverture, that they offered to the organization "Paz Dominicana".

The Minister Rose Anne Auguste also thanked the other peoples of Latin America that have always expressed their solidarity with the Haitian people and took the opportunity to salute the Haitian organizations that have supported the work of these brave Dominicans.
