Haiti - Politic : Bahamas Delegation in Haiti 27/03/2014 10:55:20 Godfrey Rolle, Bahamas Ambassador to Haiti joined the delegation, which plans to meet among others, during his stay, the Chancellor Pierre Richard Casimir, the Minister of the Interior David Basile and the acting minister of Trade and industry, Wilson Laleau. In a statement, the Government of Bahamas indicates that after the controversial decision of the judgment 168-13 of the Dominican Constitutional Tribunal (TC), he took the opportunity of this visit to express his own concerns on issues of illegal immigration in his country from Haiti. In addition, on the commercial terms, Chancellor Mitchell, stressed that Haiti needed phytosanitary protocols in line with international standards to increase agricultural product trade between the two countries. The Bahamas currently imports plantains and mangoes grown in Haiti through the United States "because of the absence of phytosanitary measures in Haiti," said the Bahamian government. The delegation will leave Haiti on Friday.
