Friday, within the framework of strengthening of relations of cooperation between Vietnam and Haiti, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, accompanied by a large delegation composed among others of, several ministers and Vietnamese investors will perform on 28 and 29 March an official visit to Haiti at the invitation of his counterpart Laurent Lamothe.

This visit follows the Prime Minister's visit Lamothe in December 2012 in Vietnam, the first of a high Haitian leader in Vietnam and the first of ranking between the two countries.

During his stay, Nguyen Tan Dung will meet among others with President Michel Martelly and Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe on how to strengthen relations between the two republics, strengthen their cooperation in trade and investment and South-South cooperation.

It will be an opportunity for the Prime Minister Lamothe, to invite Vietnamese businessmen to partner with the State and/or the private sector.

Note that after the visit to Vietnam of the Prime Minister Lamothe in 2012, trade and investment relations between the two countries have experienced strong growth. Bilateral trade in 2013 reached $42 million. Vietnam import especially from Haiti raw materials for its textile and clothing industries, iron and steel, pulp and animal feed, and exports in returnRice [66,000 tonnes of rice in 2013, according to the memorandum on the rice trade signed in December 2012], textiles, rattan, bamboo, wood and articles of wood, chemicals and plastics.

Recall that since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 26 September 1997, Vietnam and Haiti have not ceased to strengthen their cooperation.
