Haiti - Security : Réginald Delva condemns the attack against the premises of MICT
In a statement, the former Secretary of State for Public Security, Réginald Delva, new Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT), strongly condemns the acts of aggression and the violent attempted of incursion of protesters claiming to be of the opposition, in its Annex to the Champ de Mars, in the afternoon of Tuesday, April 15, 2014, attempt, blocked by security officers of the Ministry and the intervention of law enforcement.

"The MICT deplores these acts of violation of its space, that resulted to one wounded, psychological trauma within his staff and damaged vehicles, following the throwing of stones thrown by demonstrators toward its premises."

The Ministry expresses its concern "by the failure to respect democratic principles, intransigence and the escalation of violence that has taken possession of some protesters, disturbing public order.

MICT called the whole population to respect the opinions and position of each, and to work for the preservation of peace and dialogue, useful to stop conflict, produce an environment conducive to building state structures and the establishment of sustainable development."

The Minister Delva remind everyone that "the Administration Martelly/Lamothe, in accordance with its commitments, continue to respect and defend the individual and collective freedoms, and to work for the establishment of the rule of law in Haiti."
