Haiti - Politic : The Club of Madrid support the elections under the agreement of El Rancho
Monday to the Primature, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe, met with the former President of Chile, Ricardo Lagos, within the framework of the visit of a delegation of the Club of Madrid in Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11017-haiti-elections-the-club-of-madrid-comes-help-overcome-the-political-impasse.html aimed at support the democratic process in Haiti.

The two men agreed on the need to hold elections next October 26, 2014, as stipulated in the agreement of El Rancho "The Club de Madrid supports the organization of the upcoming electoral elections in Haiti, according to the El Rancho agreement," said Mr. Lagos.

This meeting was also an opportunity for the Prime Minister to remind to his interlocutor that the composition of the Electoral Council in place, reflects the desire of the three branches of government that have each appointed three representatives.

Ricardo Lagos said observe a lot of progress in Haiti, noting that the inter-Haitian dialogue was on the right track and promised to bring his experience in the process of national reconciliation. During his stay, he plans to meet with the other signatories of the agreement El Rancho, in the context of a consensus to allow the Haitian people to choose their representatives through honest, credible and democratic elections.
