Haiti - Humanitarian : Taiwan donated 2,400 tonnes of rice

As part of the improvement of living conditions for the poorest in Haiti, the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), represented by Ambassador HwangTsai-chiu, signed Friday, May 2, a Grant Agreement for 2,400 tons of rice, worth 1.2 million U.S. dollars, with the Organization Food For The Poor - Haiti, represented by Kareen Dolce, the Executive Director so that this organization can conduct its food assistance programs to the Haitian people. This cooperation, existing for several years as part of humanitarian aid, is a joint effort of the Taiwanese Government and Food For The Poor - Haiti to fight against poverty. This donation of rice demonstrates once more the fraternal solidarity between the two peoples, Haiti and Taiwan.
